'Be Like You' was written in December of 2020. Like most songs that I write, this one was very much unplanned. But it was unplanned in terms of what it would be about. I remember wanting to create something that day and I kept coming across the lines "I don't wanna be like you" and "your truth". From that point, everything else started to fall in place.

I wrote 'Be Like You' after seeing how heavily influential the mainstream media has been in determining what is right and wrong, who we should be, and how we should live. For me, this song represents so many things but if there is something to take away from it, I would describe it as a reminder that you are you for a reason. Don't let anyone try to tell you who you are. If you are in the minority, that is absolutely okay. No one can tell you how to feel, how to live (as long as it is legal of course lol) or how/who to be. This is something that gets preached a lot but not so much practiced or followed. (I am included in this) So if anyone listens to this song lol, I hope they can see it as a way to really stay focused on connecting to themselves, without outside factors having a say. (It's really important)

Thank you for listening.
